Choosing to be happy and grateful on a Monday can make your whole week so much better!!

Unless you're some sort of unicorn, most of us normal humans know that Mondays are not our favorite day of the week! There are a million reasons folks feel like dealing with Mondays is about as much fun as flossing with barbed-wire. It can mean the beginning of the daily grind. Off to a job that you hate. The start of running your kids from activity to activity with no rest in between. Maybe you have something coming up this week that you're dreading and because its Monday you're going to have to deal with it soon. The list could go on and on.
Guess what? Mondays might not be your favorite, but everybody has them! If you're living and breathing, dredging through your Monday then so is someone else. You are NOT alone! I've come to realize that Mondays are all how you handle them. Be grateful!! What I mean is, sit your butt down and take ten minutes every Monday and make a 10 item list of things that you are grateful for and then keep that list close to you. I'm telling you, IT WORKS! If you make your brain recognize that there are things in your life that are good, even on a dreary Monday, you can conquer your week on a whole new level. It doesn't matter how big or how small the thing is that you are grateful for. The point is being grateful makes you realize that you have good circumstances in your corner, no matter how small they may seem. When your feeling the Monday blues sneaking in reach for your Grateful Monday List and review. Those little blessings that you have are a flame in your life! They are what keep you going. Even a little flicker of a flame can turn into a bon-fire if it's fueled properly. So what are you feeding your flame with? Dreary Monday blues or grateful gasoline?
The sooner you realize being grateful is fuel to your fire, the sooner you will be kicking Mondays right in the ass! It probably won't be the easiest transition to make. Making a Grateful Monday List one time won't change your crappy Monday attitude. Just remember anything worth doing takes time and isn't easy, but it's almost always worth the effort. So roll your butt out of bed 10 minutes earlier next Monday and get to work. You can download my Grateful Monday List by signing up for our email list or grab an old notebook and pen and get to work!
Just remember if you end up putting your underwear on inside out on a Monday (yes, this was me today as I'm writing this.) Don't get upset! Just add it to your Grateful Monday List! I didn't get my drawers on the right way, but at least I have a whole closet full of clean clothes that I can change into anytime I want! Or when you drive off with your coffee on the hood of your car. At least I have a few dollars in my pocket I can stop and get a new cup. See how that works? Don't take yourself too seriously and for the love and all that is holy, just be grateful!!
My Grateful Monday List
1. My kids have colds, but I'm grateful they aren't sick with something worse.
2. My house looks like something exploded in here, but I'm grateful I have a warm home on this cold day.
3. I'm grateful for a giant Costco size tub of Vick's Vapor Rub to put on Whitty's chest and feet to help calm her cough (great trick by the way! Vicks on the feet works great!)

5. I'm grateful for having all the ingredients in my house to make homemade chicken noodle soup for my sickie girls on this cold day.
